No. A Valley center pivot will only need a screened intake, because sprinkler orifices range from 2 mm to 10 mm (.08" to .4") in diameter, versus drip with emitter sizes 16 times smaller.

Typical pressure needed on a 50-hectare (124-acre) field pumping 45 liters per second (710 gallons per minute) is only 1.5-2.10 bars (22-30 psi).

A galvanized center pivot can last for decades if it receives normal maintenance service and the water supply is non-corrosive. In areas where the water is less desirable, we suggest Valley Polyspan® to maximize pivot life.

No, a center pivot is like a large compass. The pivot system can be installed before planting and used to scribe row markings in the soil at exact row spacings.
